Remembering Mary Tyler Moore, Greenwich’s Sweetheart

Last week, we lost an icon. A siren of the small screen. A Greenwich resident.  Mary Tyler Moore’s impact on television and film transcends genres.  Her roles on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show established very early on the important roles that women can have on television.  Whether playing a stay-at-home mom or a single, working women, Mary Tyler Moore left an undeniable impact on the face of women in television.  The female driven comedies and dramas of the current primetime television lineup can trace their success all the way back to Mary Tyler Moore’s roles.

This week, we pay tribute to some of our favorite Mary Tyler Moore performances over the years.  From The Dick Van Dyke Show to Hot in Cleveland, Mary Tyler Moore has captivated every audience.  She will be missed, but her legacy will live on forever.

Lindsey Hascher has spent her whole life in Fairfield County. After spending 8 years at Convent of the Sacred Heart on King Street, Greenwich has been her home away from home. She is currently a senior at Quinnipiac University studying Mass Communications with a minor in Computer Science and Digital Media.
