Opening Night Film & Party Highlights

Months of planning finally paid off. Last night we had our Opening Night Film and Party!

The night started with a screening of THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING, our Opening Night Film. This film explored the contemporary art world and examined the role of art and other artistic passions in today’s money-driven, consumer-based society. The story follows art collectors, dealers, auctioneers, and a variety of artist including Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Njideka Akunyili Crosby, and one-time art star Larry Poons. The film explores the question that many times comes up in the art world today; how do we price the priceless?

The night’s festivities began with the presentation of the Film Awards. Ryan Eggold, Head of the Social Impact Jury, helped Colleen deVeer, Director of Programming, and Sam Kleiner, GIFF Programmer, present the 2018 Film Awards. Read the full blog post about the winners here!

And then….Ms. Lauryn Hill took the stage. She put on an amazing show filled with her classics, which had the crowd singing along during her entire set. It was clear that she is not just a performer, but an artist. Ms. Lauryn Hill had such a unique voice and we are so glad we were able to bring her to Greenwich. Every little detail of her performance was beautifully thought out and she had the crowd dancing all night.
