Alexandre Chouery: Re-designing the Salon Experience

Alexandre Chouery, Founder of Maison D’Alexandre in Greenwich, attributes his unique perspective and appreciation for beauty to his French-Lebanese heritage: a marriage of two cultures renowned for elegance and refinement yet whose aesthetic sensibilities differ.  This synthesis of east and west, coupled with his insistence on perfection, has shaped Alexandre’s twenty year career in the fashion industry.

Alexandre’s passion for creating beauty brought him to Paris as a young man where he attended the Private Academy of Marciel Lamy.

Alexandre was then chosen by the elite Dessange Private Academy to serve as an apprentice under Jacques Dessange.  Here, Alexandre perfected his innovative approach to coiffage while distinguishing himself as a capable manager with an instinct for client satisfaction.

Alexandre’s professional relationship with Dessange spanned a decade.  He was assigned to the position of Director at the Dessange flagship location on the Avenue Frankin D. Roosevelt in Paris – a chic location in the global epicenter of fashion and style.  Additionally, each award season, Alexandre was part of a team of stylists on location in Cannes where they prepared the A List attendees for their every engagement including the red carpet and late night premier galas.  Among those assigned directly to Alexandre, Diane Von Furstenberg, Selma Hayek, Monica Bellucci, Carla Bruni and Hugh Jackman became clients of his own with whom he has enjoyed working since.

In addition to his duties at the salon and in Cannes, each year Alexandre was a lead stylist at the Paris Fashion Weeks, working back stage at the runway shows of the most select couture houses.  During this time, Alexandre cultivated relationships with members of the Royal Houses of Saudi, Dubai and Qatar and continues to be their exclusive stylist.

Alexandre arrived in the United States in 2006 with an offer to join the Frederic Fekkai flagship salon in New York City.  Within a year, he was selected to open the Fekkai salon in Greenwich, CT.  Under his Creative Directorship, the Greenwich location grew to become the single most successful location of the Fekkai brand.

Fast forward to this fall, when he opened the doors to Maison D’Alexandre, a state-of-the-art salon and spa that delivers an exceptional customer experience.  From the fragrant aroma of the products he uses to the delightful music that plays in the background, and the impeccably designed furniture and décor, the salon caters to all of the senses.  Every aspect of Maison D’Alexandre was curated by Alexandre with an emphasis on quality and comfort. Guests are welcomed into the salon by Alexandre and can relax by the fireplace with a glass of wine and a book from the library, while deciding from an array of sophisticated services.

Alexandre has recruited industry veterans for his salon team including the Creative Directors, Beth Jablonska and Rabih Fakhoury. Clients can expect the best treatment when it comes to beauty and hair care at Maison D’Alexandre.  Greenwich International Film Festival is proud to partner with Maison D’Alexandre as the Official Salon of the 2018 festival.
