Ever wonder what it would be like to be the star of your own Disney show? Want the secrets from the pros? Join some of Hollywood’s bright young stars including Neel Sethi (The Jungle Book) and Peyton List (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jessie) for this engaging workshop.

Participants aged 6-13 will get the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from GIFF panelists and will participate in acting exercises with Matt Newton, one of the most sought after on-camera acting coaches in New York City. His clients include Tony winners, Emmy award winners, Golden Globe nominees, and well known actors from film and television. VIP passholder’s children will have the opportunity to work with Matt before the workshop in a private acting session to create their audition tapes which will then be reviewed by top casting director Adrienne Stern.

The 2nd Annual Children’s Acting Workshop will be held Saturday June 11th at the Greenwich Country Day School’s Preforming Arts Center. MATT NEWTON, Founder of MN Acting Studio & GIFF Action Committee Member

Matt is one of the most sought after on-camera acting coaches in New York City. His clients include Tony winners, Emmy award winners, Golden Globe nominees, and well known actors from film and TV.

Matt is the director and writer of the upcoming film “Hide/Seek,” starring Ned Van Zandt. Also, Matt is the on-set acting coach for the hit CBS show Blue Bloods and recently coached on the film #Horror, starring Chloe Sevigny and Timothy Hutton, as well as Aziz Ansari for “Master of None.” Matt teaches workshops all over the U.S., most recently at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut, and at One on One Studios in New York City.
Matt has been a professional actor in New York and Los Angeles for the past 14 years, and has appeared in dozens of television shows, films, commercials, and voiceovers.

TV roles include: Comedy Central's Strangers with Candy, Criminal Minds, Ugly Betty, Drake and Josh Go Hollywood, Gilmore Girls, All My Children, Dragnet, The Americans, Royal Pains, Miracles, JAG, Judging Amy, Family Law, Guiding Light and MTV’s Undressed.

Film credits include: Van Wilder, Men Who Stare at Goats, Dahmer (starring Jeremy Renner, and nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards), Poster Boy (starring Karen Allen and Oscar nominee Michael Lerner), The Shore (starring Ben Gazzara), A Secret Promise (starring Ione Skye) and Peace of Mind (for which he won Best Actor at the Philadelphia Film Festival).

Matt received a B.A. in Drama from Vassar College and completed a residency at the highly regarded National Theatre Institute in Waterford, CT.  Post graduation he trained with acclaimed teacher Arthur Mendoza at the Actor’s Circle Theatre in Los Angeles.

ADRIENNE STERN, Acting Coach, Producer & GIFF Executive Board Member

With top agency and management relationships, Adrienne Stern is known for working closely with Directors and Producers to secure the types of casts that open doors to major film festivals and distribution packages. Her films have premiered at Sundance, Toronto, Cannes, Tribeca, Berlin, South by Southwest, Seattle and many other prominent film festivals, many taking home prestigious awards.
This past year 2015 has been a busy one with both “The Nymphets” and “He Never Died” premiering at SXSW 2015. In 2014 “Lucky Them” premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival after a 2013 premier at TIFF. The film stars Toni Collette, Thomas Hayden Church, Nina Arianda and Oliver Platt, and produced by Amy Hobby (Tangerine) Exec produced by Joanne Woodward. Adrienne is currently casting two films for Tangerine “Keep The Change” and an Untitled Joey Lauren Adams film.
